For those of you who could make it, we had a great Grand Rounds presentation by Dr. Prashant Mahajan from the Children’s Hospital of Michigan on the past, present, and future of evaluation of the febrile child. I will keep it brief but just wanted to share the current ACEP Clinical Policy on management of children less than 3 years old with a fever.
Click on the link above and check it out. It looks like its due for an update soon but still some good stuff in there I think. In case you missed the lecture, you can watch it at our Vimeo page if you have the secret password and get really up to date on this topic! Would love to hear your thoughts on the topic especially when it comes to following a particular guideline (Philadelphia vs Boston vs Rochester)? And how has your practice changed if at all with the decreasing prevalence of H. flu and pneumococcus? Leave your comments below.
Thanks,
JK
