Last week Dr. Paulson discussed this excellent review that went over the manifestations, pathophysiology and treatment of heat related illness. This paper can be found by clicking here.
The Evaluation and Management of Heat Injuries in the Emergency Department
Dr. Paulson was also gracious enough to summarize that article in a word document so you don’t have to read the entire thing. It is found below.
Hope you enjoy this in-depth read. Can’t wait for next mont to see what topics are discussed.
PS-For those interested, we will be doing a hike on July 22 to Breakneck Ridge. A link to that hike can be found here.

This is a fantastic hike that has some tough parts to it. The rewards are great though with excellent views of Storm King Mountain and the upper part of the Hudson river. We will also be drilling on some wilderness type injuries at some point on the hike to keep things interesting. I hope to see many of you out there.
