X-ray Vision: The answer

fractureThis was an elderly woman who fell. This is a very difficult case and even with the 12 other views that were offered it was difficult to tell which way the fracture was displaced. This was read by radiology as “Transverse fractures of the left distal radius, ulna and ulnar styloid with volar displacement of the carpal bones.”

I spent a really long time trying to find a better view to show this but these two photos were the best.

How does that change the answer? This is the difference between and Smith’s Fracture and a Colle’s Fracture. This makes it a Smith’s fracture.

I think winner would have to be Wendy because she got the third fracture.
