This month’s edition goes to . . . Dr. Michael Griesinger!
Here’s the story . . .
Dr. Griesinger picked up a young male patient in the “asthma room” despite 
it being late in his shift. The patient complained of a sudden onset of chest pain, and Greisinger noted decreased breath sounds and immediately brought this to my attention. His examination finding was accurate. He then took it upon himself to take the patient to radiology for a chest radiograph, and indeed, the patient had a complete collapse of his right lung. Long after his shift had ended, Griesinger then took the patient to the critical care area and placed a pigtail catheter without complication. He should be applauded for his clinical acumen and extra effort.
